We are seeking expressions of interest from Apprentice Fitters through to experienced Senior Fitters to join our Maintenance Team. This role plays a critical part in keeping our sawmill and timber‑processing equipment running safely and efficiently

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair sawmill and timber‑processing equipment

• Carry out preventative maintenance across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

• Support breakdown response and troubleshooting

• Assist with maintenance of mobile plant (e.g., forklifts, loaders, diggers)

• Fabrication and welding tasks as required

• Contribute to continuous improvement and safe work practices

This is a full‑time role, working Monday to Thursday: 6.00am – 3.00pm and Friday: 6.00am – 2.00pm

About You

We are open to all levels of experience — from those starting their trade through to seasoned Fitters. Ideally, you will bring:

• Experience in general engineering

• Trade qualification (Fitter Turner / Fitter Welder) or working towards one

• Fabrication and welding capability

• Experience with mobile machinery maintenance (advantageous)

• Preventative maintenance knowledge

• A proactive approach to Health & Safety

• Clear communication and a can‑do attitude

As our Senior Accountant, you are the financial control hub of the business. Working directly with the Managing Director, you will provide the visibility, accuracy, and insight needed for strong decision‑making. This is a hands‑on, high‑accountability role with three non‑negotiables: clear cashflow visibility, proactive debtors management, and accurate P&L reporting.

You will find yourself across the following key responsibilities:

·         Maintaining clear, current cashflow visibility at all times — including weekly reporting and daily monitoring

·         Owning the debtors ledger and driving proactive collections
Leading the month‑end close and delivering an accurate P&L within 5 working days

·         Preparing journals, reconciliations, accruals, and fixed asset processing

·         Providing in‑month cost oversight and monthly management reporting

·         Owning budgeting, forecasting, and capex planning cycles

·         Completing GST, RWT, FBT and other statutory returns accurately and on time

·         Directing and reviewing the transactional support layer to ensure consistency and control

·         Working closely with the MD on funding, insurance, compliance and financial strategy

This role requires someone who can operate confidently under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and communicate proactively — especially when month‑end and cashflow demands peak.

And importantly, we’re looking for someone who is willing to incorporate AI tools and automation wherever possible to improve speed, accuracy, and reporting efficiency.

We are seeking applicants who have:

·         Significant experience in a senior accounting or financial management role

·         Proven ownership of cashflow reporting and active debtors management

·         Strong working knowledge of month‑end close, reconciliations and fixed asset processing

·         Experience preparing and owning budget and forecasting cycles

·         Advanced Excel skills and high competency in Xero or similar systems

·         Experience filing GST, RWT, FBT and other statutory returns

·         Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with the MD and senior managers

·         A willingness to incorporate AI and improve processes

·         Manufacturing or sawmill experience is advantageous
